Have you ever wanted to check out roller derby?? Well here’s your chance…and it’s FREE! In an attempt to make our hometown more awesome, the City of Ottawa has teamed up with the Capital City Derby Dolls for DERBY DAY. And to feed everyone, Street Food Ottawa is on board for the event to bring you some of the cities best food trucks and carts!
Mayor Jim Watson even declared July 20th, 2013 “Capital City Derby Dolls Derby Day”…
The event is being held OUTSIDE on the “Rink of Dreams” pad at Marion Dewar Plaza at City Hall. From 12noon to 6pm you will be able to go for a skate, learn the rules and watch mini-derby bouts put on by the girls. All ages are welcome as there will be lots of activities for the family to partake in.
The Merry Dairy has been a long-time partner of the Capital City Derby Dolls, and on July 20th they will be joined by a variety from the bunch of new street vendors. It’s a great opportunity for you to check a few of them out all in one spot!
In addition to The Merry Dairy, look for Ad Mare, Angry Dragonz, Lunch, Red Roaster, Mr. Churritos and a late edition Gongfu Bao to help keep your energy levels up and keep you hydrated for your skate around the rink.
Here’s the schedule of events for the day…
Let’s keep our fingers crossed for great weather! See you at the rink!
